Grant Purpose - With this proposal, the Instituto del Bien Comun (IBC) is returning to the Moore Foundation for a second three-year term grant of funding. In the second grant, IBC will continue supporting indigenous peoples to play a more active role in conservation efforts, the expansion and sustainable use of their territories and the creation of new protected and sustainable use areas in Peru. In addition, IBC will begin to work with highland communities to protect headwater cloud forest ecosystems, create a water quality monitoring and modeling system, develop the Biosphere Reserve as a framework for broader conservation and management efforts at the landscape level and develop greater managerial and fund-raising capacity within the organization for financial sustainability in all these efforts.
