Moore FoundationGrant Purpose - This second phase grant will enable Instituto Socioambiental (ISA) to build on the activities and outputs successfully developed during earlier phases of funding (Grants #429 and #828). ISA will develop and implement Integrated Resource Management and Productive Activity plans for 8.5 million ha of Indigenous Lands in the Upper Rio Negro, and work with the communities to place under effective management an additional two million ha mosaic of Protected Areas and Indigenous Lands in the middle Rio Negro. Additionally, ISA will coordinate the design and promote the implementation of science- and consensus-based monitoring standards to effectively manage and mitigate threats to Protected Areas and Indigenous Lands in the Brazilian Amazon.
