Grant Purpose - Les Amis de la Terre has been actively engaged in encouraging the French government to support international financial institution reform since 1995. With this grant, it will focus reform efforts on strengthening the environmental and social safeguard policies of European financial institutions, the French export credit agency, French private banks and insurance companies, and the World Bank. The grantee will ensure monitoring and compliance mechanisms are developed for these higher standards. This grant will also support organizational capacity-building projects.
