Mott FoundationGrant Purpose - The Alliance for Quality Education: Statewide Education Financing Reform Project was organized in late 1999 to build a coalition of community organizations and other education stakeholders who were interested in working on school finance reform and education improvements in the state of New York, especially for children from economically disadvantaged communities. This renewal grant to the Public Policy and Education Fund of New York supports continued organizing work to empower local residents to help shape the future of education financing throughout the state. In addition to community organizing, the work will include coalition building, a media strategy, training of local leaders, and organizing public forums to educate the public.
