Tulane University Grant
Organization - Tulane University
Grant Amount - $100,000
Foundation -
Mott FoundationGrant Purpose - Louisiana's extraordinary freshwater resources support important fisheries and wildlife, and its marshes act as storm buffers and help improve water quality. These vital resources are at risk from pollution, development, and poorly planned post-hurricane construction. With prior Mott support, the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic, a program of Tulane University, has worked with community and environmental groups to help better implement the Clean Water Act in order to protect and restore Louisiana's critical aquatic resources. The clinic will continue to provide policy, legal, and outreach assistance to abate pollution discharges, protect wetlands, encourage stronger government leadership, and increase public involvement in freshwater conservation.
