University of New Hampshire Grant

Organization - University of New Hampshire
Grant Amount - $45,000
Foundation - Mott Foundation
Grant Purpose - This grant will enable the Carsey Institute at the University of New Hampshire to conduct a comparative rural economy survey of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. This survey will be used by Northern Initiatives, a nonprofit affiliate of ShoreBank Corporation, to aid local communities and small businesses in developing a regional strategy of marketing nature tourism opportunities. Finally, this comparative survey will allow the economy of the Upper Peninsula to be compared with other rural regions such as the Mississippi Delta and Appalachia.
