Grant Purpose - This grant will continue to provide support to the Coalition for Community Schools, a project of the Institute for Educational Leadership. The coalition was begun through a series of meetings in 1998 and emerged as a more formal entity in 2000 in order to give a united voice to organizations and institutions from different sectors that are committed to developing and maintaining community schools. The coalition will continue its efforts to build and mobilize a strong network of partners and educate the public and policymakers about the vision of community schools. During the grant period, the coalition will implement its strategic plan designed to determine how the organization can be more effective in the future.
