The Lakeshore Pool in Kingston, Ontario, has been around for more than 50 years, but its changing rooms were "outdated and do not represent or fit everyone that wants to enjoy our swim facilities," per a press release from the Lakeshore Swimming Pool Association.

That's about to change.

Thanks to a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the not-for-profit will be adding a gender-neutral and family-friendly changeroom and washroom, as well as a dedicated family bathroom, to the 50-year-old facility.

"We will now be able to accommodate everyone that comes to the pool and that is a significant and needed improvement for our community," the association's president says.

The Ontario Trillium Foundation is an agency of the government of Ontario, which last year invested $209 million into 2,042 community projects.
