Grant Purpose - This grant to NCI aims to conserve the biodiversity of the lowland Amazon forests of Loreto, Peru's largest region, through a regional conservation program and the designation of several Regional Conservation Areas (RCAs). Beyond creating and managing RCAs, NCI will identify and manage key ecological processes essential for the health of Amazon ecosystems, and the development of related community-based resource management and conservation practices.
