Grant Purpose - This grant will enable the Michigan Works! Association to initiate a staff training program patterned after the Aspen Institute's nationwide sectoral employment training program. The Michigan Sectoral Skills Academy will offer two different training opportunities. One three-day training session will serve as a primer and be open to all Michigan Works! agency staff from a senior executive to an entry-level worker. The second two day training will be open to different Michigan Works! teams who are implementing or have implemented a sectoral strategy and would like to expand upon that project.
