Grant Purpose - Community Connections provides organizational development training and technical assistance to build institutional capacity of community-based organizations in the Western Cape province. It primarily supports nonprofits focused on local economic and community development, HIV/AIDS, early childhood development, women empowerment, arts and culture, the environment, and poverty eradication. Past core activities included providing organizational development trainings and workshops, developing a computer resource center, partnering with several organizations for consultancies, promoting networking between community organizations and local government, and publishing training materials. This renewal grant will support the continuation of core activities through trainings, workshops, consultancies, publications, expanding the resource center's activities, and providing opportunities for peer learning and networking. Community Connections is a membership-based nonprofit that was founded in 2000 to address issues of poverty.
