Foundation - Mott Foundation
Grant Purpose - The program goal is to support social transformation in Ukraine through development of a strong, diverse, and vibrant civil society. The GURT Resource Center for NGO Development will provide technical assistance, training, consultation, publications, and a range of information services to help strengthen nongovernmental organizations throughout Ukraine. It will work to foster effective partnerships between civil society organizations and local governments. It will promote a number of innovative practices in the mapping of social services and in the establishment and organization of self-help groups. The grant will build on the center's successful efforts of promoting its information and knowledge resources which have seen readership of its core news bulletin increase by over 30 percent. In the previous grant period the center conducted organizational development activities for over 5,000 participants. Established in 1995, the center is one of the leading sources for social information and expertise in Ukraine.
