Mott FoundationGrant Purpose - This grant will support LA's BEST in serving more than 26,000 children in 180 afterschool programs throughout the City of Los Angeles. LA's BEST is a unique partnership, which includes the City of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Unified School District, community-based organizations, and the private sector. LA's BEST aims to offer high quality, afterschool education, enrichment, and recreation programs for children between the ages of 5 and 12. Each LA's BEST site creates a safe haven for economically disadvantaged children by providing homework assistance, supporting core academic skills, and offering enriching activities at no cost to parents.
