The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation was established in 1999 by Michael and Susan Dell in Austin, Texas. During the early years of the foundation, they focused on the improvement of education and children's health in Central Texas.
Currently, they are committed to assist nonprofit organizations working in major urban communities in the United States, South Africa, and India. They focus on opportunities with greatest potential to directly and measurably transform lifelong outcomes of impoverished urban children around the globe.
They use metrics-based methodologies and analysis to identify where their resources can be effectively applied to produce both immediate and long-term systemic changes that can be sustained and expanded.
