The Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi awarded more than $70,000 in grants this year to non-profit organizations.
Its current strategies are initiatives in pre-kindergarten education, prevention of childhood obesity and place-based education.
The foundation has a committment from the Hernando-based charitable Maddox Foundation to match 100 percent of endowed funds up to $10 million in a 10-year period.
