The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation announced some $400,000 in grants awarded to projects across the state.
The Hampden County Sheriff's Department has been awarded a grant to expand the tree canopy at the Ludlow jail property.
The project will improve air quality, better manage stormwater flows and provide educational opportunities through expanding and improving its arboretum.
The Ludlow Correctional Facility will receive $64,555.
