Sidney Council Moves To Apply For Grant To 'Revitalize' Community

The town of Sidney, Ind., is looking to the futureliterally.

The council voted Monday to apply for a $10,000 to $13,000 grant from the Kosciusko County Community Foundation to fund a strategic plan for economic growth, the Journal Gazette reports.

"I think over the years, a lot of the residents have become disenchanted because things weren't moving and it was just the same old stuff," says councilwoman Sharon Rancourt.

"I can think of several people who would like to participate in something like this, as long as they felt like something was going to happen and they weren't investing in something for nothing."

The strategic plan will be created over a seven-month process, and council president Gavin Parrett says they hope to have a plan for the next leaders by January.
