New Zealand's new right-wing government, which took office in November, has rolled back a number of environmental policies, including a ban on oil and gas exploration and the removal of agricultural gases from the country's emissions trading scheme, but it still plans to meet its climate change goals, Reuters reports.
On Wednesday, the government announced its new climate strategy, which the country's climate change minister says is built on five core pillars: ensuring infrastructure is resilient, there are credible markets support the climate transition, clean energy is abundant and affordable, there is world-leading climate innovation, and there are nature-based solutions to address climate change.
