Gulf Coast Community Foundation Announces Philanthropic Leadership

Joe Carter's first day on the job as the VP of philanthropy at Florida's Gulf Coast Community Foundation was Wednesday, and the man the Sarasota Herald-Tribune describes as a "philanthropist extraordinaire" couldn't have been more gushing.

"I am ready and excited to partner with our donors and professional advisors to create a legacy of bold and proactive philanthropy in the areas they care about most," Carter said in a press release.

The foundation, which has raised more than $100 million since its founding in 2000, says Carter's 30 years of experience "in stewarding philanthropic partnerships" will serve him well in his new role.

"His passion for community was evident during his time with the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, and I'm thrilled that he will bring that expertise and compassion here for our community," the foundation's CEO said in the press release.

Carter will be working with Gulf Coast's donors, as well as professional advisers, to help them reach their philanthropic goals.

Sasha Pyatte, the foundation's new Director of Philanthropic Partnerships, will also be working with donors to help them "create meaningful impact together," the press release says.
