"The arts have the power to unite our community," Jennifer O'Flannery Anderson, CEO of the Community Foundation of Broward, says in a press release.
"They inspire us, educate us, and challenge our perspectives."
O'Flannery Anderson is referring to the $430,000 in grants the foundation has awarded to eight arts organizations in South Florida, the Sun-Sentinel reports.
The eight organizations are Florida Youth Orchestra, South Florida PBS, Brazilian Voices, Brevo Theatre, Grace Arts Center, New City Players, GENVAS (Venetian Arts Society), and Funding Arts Broward.
