The Ford Foundation, one of the five largest philanthropists in the US, has come under fire in the past for its support of far-left groups.

Now, however, it's back in the news for another reason: The group has given millions of dollars in grants to such groups as the Center for Popular Democracy, which has received $35.2 million since 2012, and the Sunrise Movement, which has received $650,000 for training and organizing, the Daily Beast reports.

The Ford Foundation, founded in 1908, "has long seen itself as uniquely dedicated to progress and progress is progress," the Beast notes.

But in recent years, the foundation has been supporting groups "that are rapidly tearing apart the body politic: a rapacious strain of tribal identity politics; spreading legal, cultural, and moral chaos; lawlessness in the streets; and the entrenchment of an oligarchic managerial elite, increasingly willing to cast aside any remaining shred of democratic or national sovereignty in its pursuit of top-down global 'progress,'" the Beast notes.

The Ford Foundation, which has a $16.4 billion endowment in 2022, "has long seen itself as uniquely dedicated to progress and progress is progress," the Beast notes.
