Leicester Named the Fifth Best Creative Hotspot in the Uk

If you're looking for a new city to call home, look no further than Leicester, England.

The city has been named as one of the top five in the UK when it comes to having a thriving creative community, per a study by content creation platform Adobe.

Only Brighton, London, Edinburgh, and Manchester finished above Leicester in the survey, which looked at six factors: the number of museums, art galleries, and theaters per 100,000 people, the number of art schools, arts festivals hosted in areas such as comedy, dance, music, and literature, and the number of creative jobs on offer.

"The diversity of Leicester's ecosystem provides a melting pot of creative skills buoyed by local energy and talent from London," Rachel Granger, professor of urban economies at De Montfort University Leicester, said in a statement, per the Leicester Mercury.

"Leicester is also popular in terms of its film and digital art scene, music, and performance! The city offers artists a creative, nurturing environment in which they can thrive."

De Montfort University Leicester has thousands of students studying subjects such as fashion and textiles, performing arts, music technology, interior and product design, computer game art, fine art, and literature.
