Canada's Queen Elizabeth II has been given the Order of Canadathe country's highest civilian honorfor her 60 years of service to the nation, the Globe and Mail reports.
According to the CBC, the Order of Canada is the highest honor a Canadian can receive from the government.
It's also the second-highest civilian honor the country can bestow.
The Queen was given the Order of Canada in her birthday year in 2015.
The Order of Canada was created by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who says it's "fitting that Canada's patron saint, Queen Elizabeth II, should be recognized for her long and distinguished service to our country."
The Order of Canada is given to Canadians who have made "an extraordinary contribution to Canadian life," according to the Globe and Mail.
Among this year's recipients: Canadian-born Detective Constable Mustafa Popalzai, who was born in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Originally from Chad, Ngarboui became a Canadian citizen in 2011.
He came to Winnipeg with no English proficiency and quickly learned English to complete language requirements for college and university studies.
Ngarboui initiated and co-organized "Winnipeg Food 4 All" in midst of Covid-19 in 2020 which gathered more than 200 volunteers cooking, serving packed lunches
