A North Carolina county is looking for vendors to provide emergency shelter for the homeless during extreme cold weather.
Cumberland County estimates there will be no more than 35 white-flag days a year from December through March, when temperatures or wind chills are forecast to be at or below freezing, per a county news release, the News & Observer reports.
The county is seeking vendors who can provide services for "vulnerable and homeless people during extreme cold weather conditions," according to the release.
