The Indian Trails Public Library District's summer reading program kicked off Saturday with a musical performance by Jim Gill.
The Wheeling library will also offer ice cream sundaes, balloon animals, and crafts from 10:30am to 12:30pm while supplies last, the Chicago Tribune reports.
And don't forget to track your reading between June 19 and July 31 to win free books and other prizes.
The reading challenge is free and open to everyone.
No library card is required to participate.
Saturday's events aren't limited to the main library.
Visitors to the branch facility at 99 E.Palatine Road can enjoy ice cream sundaes, balloon animals, and crafts between 10:30am and 12:30pm while supplies last.
