Metropolis' Medengage Scholarship Programme Recognises 250 Medical Students with ...

"We firmly believe that education is essential to the holistic development of the nation's youth," Dr. Sushil Shah, chairman of India's Metropolis Foundation, says in a press release.

That's why the foundation, a corporate social responsibility arm of the hospital chain Metropolis Healthcare, is offering 250 medical students in their final years a total of $2 million in scholarships, per the Times of India.

The release notes that half of the recipients are women and that the Metropolis Foundation's flagship program, MedEngage, is aimed at nurturing medical talent in the "future healthcare acumen" of India.

The release notes that the scholarships are awarded based on academic scores, extra-curricular activities, and research papers orthesis presentations.

Metropolis Healthcare's chief scientific officer, Dr.rti Chadha, tells the Times of India that the organization's scholarship program "embodies the true values of the Metropolis CSR armto nurture, educate, empower, and encourage young medical students to empower, to orientation, and encourage young medical students in their undergraduate and post graduate critical formative years."
