Diverse Erie, also known as Erie County's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission, announced on Thursday that $1.1 million will go to five awardees.
The grant program, which was launched in July, invests in programs and projects that seek to have a long-lasting impact on the Black, Indigenous or People of Color population.
Diverse Erie is funded by $3.5 million in federal American Rescue Plan funds.
