There's public art, and then there's this: The Platte Valley Arts Council has been awarded a $30,000 grant from the Wyoming Community Foundation to install six public sculptures and murals in Saratoga, Encampment, and Riverside, reports the Star-Tribune.
The sculptures will be placed in public places throughout the year, and the murals will be commissioned by local artists.
The project is a joint effort by the arts council, the town of Saratoga, and Bridge Street Bargains.
The grants come on the heels of last year's installation of two murals.
"Last year, we were able to commission and install two beautiful new murals in the Valley," says project coordinator Stacy Crimmins.
"Families will have more opportunities to explore public art in their communities without worrying about money or time constraints."
