Nearly 200 people gathered for the announcement Friday at the ETHOS Innovation Center of $42.4 million coming to northern Indiana.
Onstage for the half-hour news conference were two Notre Dame executives, a manufacturing company, the president of Community Foundation of Elkhart County and Regina Emberton, now president and CEO of the South Bend-Elkhart Regional Partnership.
Rob Smith, vice president of community development for Lilly Endowment, said hard work and collaborative spirit resulted in the grant.
