The Prince George Public Library will launch its Summer Reading Program for kids to help raise $600 to buy book boxes in Haiti by continuing in the new tradition of reading for philanthropy and introducing children to a global perspective as they do their summer reading said Library Communications Coordinator, Andrea Palmer.
The cost to purchase a 'library in a box' for Haiti is $60 and the library is hoping to purchase 10 boxes for the impoverished country, which continues to struggle almost two years after a devastating earthquake.
