The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties commissioned a study that looks at how much money there actually is in the region and ways to channel a portion of it to charity.
In the study, the wealth is measured in savings, homes, stocks, bonds and other assets. “The idea is if we are aware that kind of wealth exists, we can have a sense of what the potential might be for people who are charitable,” said Elayne Johnson, CF director of donor services.
