Part of the larger California WIC Campaign was to gather Bakersfield residents at Community Action Partnership of Kern's WIC offices to decorate paper plates that will be sent to the government in an effort to stop proposed program cuts.
This is to alert the public about cuts that could affect statewide participants. The federally funded health and nutrition program for women and children may be affected in the upcoming deficit deduction cuts.
