New CEO of the Community Foundation of South Alabama
Foundation: California Community Foundation, Community Foundation of South Alabama, Hewlett Foundation
The Community Foundation of South Alabama has appointed Alvertha Bratton Penny as their chief executive officer. She left the California Community Foundation where she worked as vice president of programs for 6 years.
According to Penny, she is interested in the job for three main reasons; she is native to the south, she wants to work on a smaller foundation, and the local foundation is focused on her career's area of concentration which is community economic development.
