About Us
Waccamaw Community Foundation exists as a tool of empowerment to help those who want to setup a charity fund. Waccamaw Community Foundation provides an alternative solution to private foundations by offering what is referred to as a community foundation and lists that it can have your foundation running just as a checking and savings account would function at your local bank. Karen Minogue, Waccamaw Wisdom columnist, shows you just how easy it is.
Karen goes on to list Harry Parnell as a reference. Harry and Marti's story is deeply touching as we see how Harry went from losing his wife Marti to using her death as a benefit for the community by taking advantage of Waccamaw Community Foundation's resources to help him get a foundation up and running in the memory of his late wife Marti. Just like Parnell, we are encouraged to take a chance and allow Waccamaw to utilize their resources so that together, we can make change.
