The reforms aim to enhance accessibility, as well as promote innovation.

The proposals are being considered by the European Commission and the European Parliament.

The European Parliament is also considering reforms to the European Medicines Agency's rules on the use of drugs in the EU.

The Commission is considering a proposal that would see the EU take over responsibility for the production of some of the world's most expensive drugs.
