Summit County uses opioid litigation settlement to establish $45 million health, safety fund.
Fund is a separate, tax-exempt charitable organization of the Akron Community Foundation.
The fund will be permanently endowed and invested according to the foundation's investment policy, according to a news release.
"I am confident the Summit Health and Safety Innovation Fund will support the community for generations to come," said Summit County Sheriff Tim McGinty.
