The Social Media Minimum Age bill was passed yesterday (28 November) by the Australian government.
It sets out to ban under-16s from using social media sites.
From late 2025, Australians must be over the age of 16 to use social media.
Any social media platforms which breach the bill could be punished with fines of up to A$49.5m.
