That's how North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University's chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance describes Henrik Ibsen's 1879 play A Doll's House, which will be performed at A&T in 2024, the News & Observer reports.
"This adaptation addresses themes of female empowerment and male domination, making the play a controversial theater classic," the chair says in a press release.
"The play premiered in 1879 at the Royal Danish Theatre in Norway, telling the story of Nora Helmer, a married woman with limited opportunities for self-fulfillment in a male-dominated society.
