The University of California, Los Angeles, has named a new president.
Paco Retana will take over for Ann Wang, who will serve as alumni regent-designate on the University of California Board of Regents, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Retana is a mental health expert who works with at-risk youth in Los Angeles.
He has also served on the UCLA Alumni Association board, which is made up of 12 alumni who work with alumni affairs staff to further the association's mission of enriching the lives of alumni around the world and involving them in UCLA's future.
Retana will serve a two-year term.

Weston Mill-based social enterprise Surplus Rescue CIC (Community Interest Company) recycles and finds homes for unwanted furniture. To date, it has received “extensive amounts” of quality second-hand furniture including desks, pedestals, cupboards and office chairs from a former local authority office equipment – and wants to find them a good home.
