A Canadian environmental group has launched a new website to inform residents of three counties in the south of the country about the effects of climate change, the CBC reports.
The Nuclear Innovation Institute's Climate Project is designed specifically for residents of Bruce, Grey, and Huron counties and indigenous communities in the Saugeen Ojibway Nation territory.
"Our goal with the climate project was to create an online hub of information that's specifically tailored to people in Bruce, Grey, and Huron Counties and local indigenous communities that are all located within the Saugeen Ojibway Nation territory," director of environment Stephanie Keating says in a press release.
The website includes information on air, water, and land, as well as interactive elements.
It was developed in collaboration with the Bruce Power utility, which has been monitoring the environment in the region for decades.
According to the press release, the website will answer questions like, "How warming air affects the region?" and "Which fish populations are dependent on colder environments?" as well as provide information on the effects of climate change on local agriculture, forests, wetlands, and watersheds.
