The Afda Experimental Festival 2024

If you're in South Africa and can't make it to one of the country's colleges this summer, you can still catch some of the country's brightest young minds in action.

The African University of Johannesburg is hosting its third annual Experimental Festival, featuring more than 70 films and performances from students across its four campuses, the BBC reports.

"Audiences enjoyed an array of thought-provoking experiences," the university said in a statement.

"Our School of Live Performance students captivated audiences with their theater plays and music performances and our School of Creative Writing School students presented their original screenplays, play-scripts, and short stories."

The festival runs from June 21 to June 28.
