"I'm speechless! Thank you so much for all that you've done!" That's how the mother of a Westfield, Ind., youth describes a recent $15,000 grant from the Hamilton County Community Foundation to the town's Youth Assistance Program.
The nonprofit works with kids ages 3 to 17 who are facing "challenging life circumstances," and the grant will allow it to continue providing them with services including mentoring, tutoring, mental health supports, camps, and enrichment activities, WRTV reports.
"My son was going through depression, but thanks to the psychologist WYAP helped us find, along with the programs offered, he was able to push through," says the mother of a Westfield youth involved in the program.
"He's given it all in his academics as well," she adds.
" WYAP continues to see an increase in the number of youth in the program, coinciding with the rapid growth of the Westfield community.
Thanks to grants like the one from Hamilton County Community Foundation and the generous donations of community members, WYAP will be able to continue to work to meet this ever-growing need and continue to provide life-changing services like those provided to Martha's son."
