Utsa to Co-Host Aim Health R&Amp;D Summit, Attracting over 700 Innovators in Health Care

If you're an entrepreneur looking to do business with the military, San Antonio, Texas, may have just the thing for you.

The University of Texas at San Antonio is teaming up with the San Antonio Military Health System, the City of San Antonio, the City of Bexar County, and the Department of Defense to host the first-ever AIM Health R&D Summit on June 24 and 25.

"These types of collaborations and cross-pollination opportunities are essential for scientific innovation and breakthroughs," Nicole Beebe, UTSA's interim associate vice president for the university's Office of Research Partnerships & Strategy, tells the San Antonio Express-News.

The event, which is free to university and military community members, will allow innovators and practitioners from academia, industry, and military to connect with potential collaborators from the San Antonio Military Health System, academic institutions, public and private organizations, small businesses, and industry partners.

"As a major hub for military medicine and the bioscience industry, San Antonio is the epicenter of dual-use technology development," says Rene Dominguez, CEO of VelocityTX, the event's co-organizer.
