"We've kind of become this kind of creative community working with different artists and creators," sayssidney Leeder of the Toronto-based production company shy kids.
So when they were asked to create a pop-up installation for the Toronto International Film Festival's premiere of Dal ? 'land, a film about Salvador Dali, they incorporated OpenAI's DALL ? 'E model, which is a text-to-video model of artificial intelligence called Sora.
"And from there, I mean shy kids have always made films about technology, so we shared some of our other work and from there we were invited to join the OpenAI Artist test group," Leeder tells No Film School.
"When Sora was ready to be put into practice, we were asked to play around with it as filmmakers and provide feedback to the researchers on what was working well in the creative process and where there could be improvements," says Patrick Cederberg, a member of the test group.
Sora, which was released in October, is a text-to-video model that can play a wide range of media, from live action to short films and commercials, reports the Verge.
