Ceo of Missoula'S Headwaters Foundation Moving on

Foundation: California Endowment

After less than two years at the helm, Brenda Solorzano is stepping down from her post as CEO of the Headwaters Foundation in Montana to take a similar job in California, the Missoulian reports.

"I will miss our team, partners, and the amazing people I have met and worked with in Montana," Solorzano says in a statement.

"However, I move on knowing that Headwaters is in a strong position for the future with a new 10-year strategy, solid staff, and an excellent Board of Directors."

Solorzano launched the foundation in 2017 to fund nonprofits that support children, families, and Native American communities in the western part of the state.

Since then, it's awarded more than $26 million in grants, the Missoulian reports.

In a statement, the foundation's board of directors says it's "sad to see Brenda go" but is "grateful for her leadership and are proud to launch her to lead one of the country's largest health foundations."
