The Democrat and Chronicle reports the state is getting a $30 million boost from two major players in the business world: MetLife and the MetLife Foundation.
The $30 million includes $5 million in funding and impact investments from the foundation and $25 million in impact investments from MetLife.
The largest chunk of that, $1 million, is going to Launch NY, a fund that aims to boost entrepreneurship in the state.
"As a company founded in New York, we are proud to be part of the state's fabric and believe we have an important role in the communities we serve," says MetLife CEO Michel Khalaf.
