Kennebec County Grantmaking Committee Adds New Members

The Maine Community Foundation has named two new members to its Kennebec County Grantmaking Committee.

Isma'l Thadal of Winslow and Aaminah Aleem of Augusta are the newest members of the foundation's Kennebec County committees, which are made up of community members who live or work in the county and serve as local ambassadors for the foundation, according to a news release from Taylor Mace with the foundation.Thadal is a public health analyst and special projects coordinator for the state, Haiti Health Network member and Portland Gear Hub volunteer.

Aleem is an administrative coordinator for student life at the University of Maine at Augusta and serves on the board of Capital Area New Mainers Project.

The volunteer county advisors review grant proposals for MaineCF's Community Building Grant Program and recommend grant awards from the Kennebec County Fund.

Community Building supports a broad range of projects and organizations across the state, including arts, education, environment, economic development and human services.
