Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation Offers Grant

The community of Cambridge, Minn., is putting its money where its mouth is.

The Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation has released its first grant of the year to the Initiative Foundation, a nonprofit that works to improve the health and well-being of communities in Isanti County, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

The foundation is accepting grant applications online at www.initiative.org and will make awards of up to $5,000 to "fit our purpose and that benefit the community identified in the geographic boundaries described above," according to its website.

The Star Tribune notes that this is the first year for the foundation, which was founded in 1992 to support Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

Weston Mill-based social enterprise Surplus Rescue CIC (Community Interest Company) recycles and finds homes for unwanted furniture. To date, it has received “extensive amounts” of quality second-hand furniture including desks, pedestals, cupboards and office chairs from a former local authority office equipment – and wants to find them a good home.
