Creative Is Native: TbwaDublin'S Clara Traynor Likes Work without Ego

"Some people discover that they're really good at one thing and pursue it professionally."

That's how Clara Traynor, senior copywriter at TBWA Ireland, describes her job at the ad agency, where she's worked on campaigns for Heineken, Tesco, and Nike, among others.

Prior to TBWA, Traynor worked as a fashion designer, and she even helped to design a bra for Katy Perry, Fast Company reports.

"The two of us created it in one long night and maybe a half a day," she tells Little Black Book.

"It was quickly couriered off to her stylist the next morning so sadly, I never got to see it on her IRL."

Traynor, who studied fashion in Limerick, returned to Ireland after a stint in New York, where she "thought the best approach to attract buyers was over-accommodation," she says.

"If a buyer seemed interested in my collection, I'd tell them about all the fabric possibilities that were available or how any element of the design could be changed."

She also learned that "the customer is always right," and that "some people will ask for the world and more and they still won't."
