Essex County Community Foundation Introduces 2023 Creative County Changemakers

The mayor of Salem, Mass., has named a new group of community leaders he hopes will make the city a better place to live and work, the Boston Globe reports.
The 2023 ChangeMakers initiative is a partnership between the mayor's office, Salem State University, and the Essex County Community Foundation.
They'll work to make the region a better place to live, work, and raise a family for the next decade, WHAV reports.
"We want to make sure that the next generation of leaders understands the importance of the arts and culture in their communities," says the president of the foundation.
The ChangeMakers were chosen from among more than 100 applicants from across the state.
"Not just for their individual passion and advocacy for arts and culture, but also because we're adding some really strong leaders to a growing network that understands the importance and power of thinking regionally and strategically about the ecosystem," says the foundation's president.
